The Sawyer MXS Pattern Oar Shaft combines a lightweight fiberglass build with exceptional strength, smooth flex, and standout custom pattern wraps. New this year, our team selected their favorite pattern prints. Each swatch includes the staff member’s name, so you can choose the look you love and support your favorite Sawyer crew member.

The MXS system delivers dependable performance for rafting and drift boating, with a balanced feel that pairs with any Tite-Set compatible blade. Rope wrap and a rubber stop come standard for quiet rowing and precise control.

OAR SHAFT LENGTH: Composite oar shaft lengths are sized to the fully assembled overall length of the oar with a standard 30" oar blade and handle attached, so if you want a 9' oar, order a 9' composite shaft.

Warranty Information

The Sawyer Guarantee: Any defect not due to misuse, abuse, accident or neglect will be repaired or replaced. We guarantee our paddle and oar products against defects in materials or workmanship for one year.

    MXS Tie Die # 2 - Update Review

    I am updating my previous review from Aug 26th 2024. We did a solo main Salmon River float like I mentioned in my previous review. It was 6 days, 5 nights and the oar and blade combo performed well above my expectation. I honestly didn't know what I was missing until that trip, and I feel foolish for not upgrading sooner. We got a lot of compliments (about 6) on the tie die pattern which added to the positive experience of the trip. I only purchased 2 to try them out but am about to order another one as a spare and turn these into my go to set up for every trip. Good by old set, hello beautiful and efficient tie die # 2.

    MXS Tie Die # 2

    I got these in tie die #2 (the more purple one) and paired them with the DyneLite Extra Duty Blades. They look awesome and more importantly they are a huge upgrade. I have only had them a couple weeks and used them on a day trip so far. We are taking them on the Main Salmon in a couple of weeks so will be nice to use them for a multi-day trip. Based on the day trip, I am going to be very happy with the feel and power/efficiency this combination gives.
