Meet Ian

Ian Gannon is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is rooted in the landscapes and rivers of the American West. Raised in the mountains of Colorado, his creative journey began early and evolved into a lifelong exploration of nature, craftsmanship, and visual storytelling.

His artwork ranges from vibrant psychedelic acrylic paintings to highly detailed wildlife imagery burned directly into wood. Using natural textures, flame, and grain as part of the creative process, Ian’s work reflects the connection between wilderness, movement, and human experience.

Rivers continue to shape both his art and his lifestyle. Growing up in a family of outdoor enthusiasts, rafting became part of daily life at an early age. Today, Ian works as a river guide throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California, spending much of his time on the water. That firsthand experience informs the authenticity and energy behind every piece he creates.

Through his collaboration with Sawyer Paddles & Oars, Ian’s artwork becomes part of functional river equipment. His wood-burned designs are featured on limited-edition Sawyer Legacy Collection oars and blades, combining handcrafted performance with one-of-a-kind outdoor art.
