Painter, Illustrator & Outdoor Storyteller
Idaho artist Ed Anderson creates bold, colorful artwork inspired by wildlife, rivers, travel, and outdoor culture. His work with Sawyer brings his distinctive storytelling style to the Tarpon Artisan SquareTop Oar.
Meet Ed
Ed Anderson is a Boise-based artist whose work celebrates outdoor life, wildlife, rivers, and the stories found along the way. His art carries a bold visual style, using bright color, strong linework, and expressive detail to capture the people, places, and animals that shape life outside.
Much of Ed’s creative work begins with travel, journals, and time spent in wild places. From rowing a raft down a remote river to exploring coastal waters by skiff, his experiences become part of the story behind each finished piece.
Ed’s artwork has been featured by respected outdoor brands, conservation groups, galleries, and publications. His work reflects a deep connection to the West while also reaching into broader stories of adventure, wildlife, and the outdoor lifestyle.
Through his Sawyer collaboration, Ed’s tarpon artwork brings a saltwater icon to the handcrafted SquareTop platform. The result is a functional oar with a strong artistic presence, built for people who appreciate performance, craftsmanship, and the stories carried by the water.
“There are always American stories to tell.”
