Meet Paul

Paul’s outdoor life started in the mountains. At the height of his ski bum days, he spent one winter living in a snow cave in the Sierras, followed by six months in a tent in Alaska while chasing seasons and wild places.

Over the years, Paul has worked as an avalanche rescue dog handler, ski patroller, Outward Bound instructor, and sea kayak guide. He has thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and twice paddled the 1,000-mile length of Baja’s Sea of Cortez solo.

Since discovering stand-up paddleboarding, Paul has rarely sat down in a boat. Paddleboarding has become his canvas for self-expression and discovery. He is known for multi-day SUP-supported trips on open water and rivers, with paddling highlights across the Western United States, Chile, Panama, Japan, and New Zealand.

Today, Paul hosts river SUP clinics that encourage paddlers to get on the river safely while building a sense of independent adventure.
