Chad Dokken
Whitewater SUP | Bozeman, Montana
Chad Dokken is a whitewater stand-up paddler based in Bozeman, Montana. He brings 9 years of experience on moving water, a deep connection to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and a strong respect for rivers that demand focus, humility, and skill.
Meet Chad
Chad grew up exploring the rivers, mountains, and forests of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. That sense of place has stayed with him ever since. Whether it is climbing frozen waterfalls in winter or navigating snowmelt-fed rapids in spring, he has always been drawn to movement through wild terrain.
Once the rivers open up, Chad spends most of his free time paddleboarding whitewater with his wife, friends, and sometimes a few brave family members. You will usually find him on the Gallatin, Boulder, or Yellowstone, where every stretch of current brings its own challenge, rhythm, and reward.
Flatwater has never been the draw. What keeps Chad coming back is the focus, humility, and respect that whitewater demands. He relies on Sawyer paddles for their feel, craftsmanship, and the satisfaction of using gear that is built with purpose and built to last.
