Meet Kate

Kate Crump operates Frigate Adventure Travel alongside her husband Justin in Bristol Bay, Alaska and along Oregon’s North Coast. She actively guides for five species of salmon, arctic char, grayling, trophy rainbow trout, and winter steelhead.

Since beginning her guiding career in Bristol Bay in 2008, Kate has become one of the few women fishing guides working professionally in the Pacific Northwest. Her experience on the water and commitment to professionalism have made her a respected figure among guides, anglers, and conservation organizations alike.

Kate is also deeply involved in conservation work through Pacific Rivers, where she serves on the board of the nonprofit organization focused on protecting salmon, steelhead, and drinking watersheds throughout Oregon. Team Sawyer recognizes Kate’s dedication to conservation and stewardship as an important connection between the history and future of wild rivers and fisheries.
